A studio service
A marketing pitch that wins the client.
A marketing pitch is how an agency or freelancer wins a new client: show you understand their business, offer an idea, and make it easy to say yes.

N° 01Research before slides
Research before slides
Read the client's site, ads and reviews, and look at their competitors. Your first slide should show something they did not expect you to know.
N° 02One insight, one idea
One insight, one idea
Pitches that try to show everything win less often than pitches built around one clear insight and one idea that follows from it.
N° 03Proof and plan
Proof and plan
Show relevant work you have permission to share, then a simple plan: what happens in the first 90 days and what it costs.
N° 04The ask
The ask
Close with a specific next step and a date.
N° 05In more detail
What to get right
01
Restate the brief
Open by setting out the client's objective, audience, budget and constraints as you understand them. If you have this wrong, it is better to learn it on the first slide.
02
Show the audience insight
Present what you learned about the client's customers and where it came from. Keep to findings you can source.
03
Strategy before creative
Explain the approach and the reason for it, then show how the idea would appear in each channel. Mock-ups make an idea easier to judge than a description.
04
Say how success is measured
Name the measures you would report and how often. Describe what you will track and avoid promising a result you do not control.
05
Team, scope and fee
Show who will do the work day to day, what is in scope, what is not and how the fee is structured. Clients often choose on this page.
N° 06What goes wrong
Common mistakes, and how to avoid them.
01
Credentials first
Opening with a long section about your agency delays the client's own problem. Lead with their brief and keep credentials short and near the end.
02
Several half-developed ideas
Showing many routes suggests you could not choose. Present the one you recommend and keep one alternative in reserve.
03
Promising results
Guaranteed outcomes are hard to keep and easy to doubt. Commit to the work, the measures and the reporting.
04
Pitching with people who will not do the work
Clients notice when the pitch team and the delivery team differ. Put the people who will run the account in the deck and in the room.
N° 07Terms
The words, in plain English.
01
RFP
Request for proposal: a document in which a client sets out a project and invites agencies to bid for it.
02
Scope of work
The written list of what will be delivered, by when, and what is not included.
03
Retainer
An ongoing fee, usually monthly, for a continuing service, as opposed to a fee for a single project.
04
KPI
Key performance indicator: a measure agreed in advance that shows whether the work is meeting its objective.
N° 08Your brief
What to send us to get started.
You do not need all of it. Send what you have and we will ask in writing for anything missing.
• The client's brief or request for proposal, and the pitch date
• Your written response: insight, strategy and idea, even as notes
• Creative mock-ups or references for the idea
• Case studies you have permission to show
• Team names, roles and photos
• Scope, timeline and fee structure, plus your agency brand files

N° 10Questions
The answers we give most often.
- How long should a marketing pitch deck be?
- Often 10 to 20 slides plus a leave-behind version.
- Do you design agency pitch decks?
- Yes, in the Deck Design or Deck + Story package.
- Should we show finished creative work in a pitch?
- That is a business decision for your agency. Some show full mock-ups and some show the strategy with a sketch of the idea. Check what the client's brief asks for.
- What is a chemistry meeting?
- It is an early meeting in a pitch process where client and agency find out whether they would work well together, usually before the full pitch.
- Can you produce a leave-behind as well as the pitch deck?
- The Deck + Story package includes a one-page teaser to match the deck. The Raise Kit adds a condensed send-ahead version.
