A short instruction on every page
Each page has one short line that says what to do. For children who cannot read yet, a small worked example shows it.

Line art where the child writes
Pages to draw or write on are clean line on white. Watercolour art is kept for the cover, section openers and picture puzzles.

Pencil pages and looking pages take turns
Activities that need a pencil alternate with ones that need only looking, such as matching or spotting.

A thread through the book
The same characters appear on every page, often on a small journey, so the activities read as one book.

Activities are kept away from the inner margin, so a child can reach every part of the page with a pencil.

Common mistakes, and how to avoid them.

Dot-to-dot numbers that collide
When dots sit too close, the numbers overlap and the order is lost. Dots are spaced and numbers sized for the age band.

Differences that vanish in print
A spot-the-difference that depends on a slight colour change fails on a black and white page. Differences are changes of shape, position or count.

Colour art on a black and white inside
Art painted in colour and printed grey looks flat. The choice of colour or black and white inside is made before any page is drawn.

Solutions take pages too. They are included in the page plan from the start.

The answers we give most often.
- How many pages can I have?
- Each package states its illustration count. An activity page counts as one illustration; simple line pages can be grouped, and the count is confirmed in the quote.
- Can it go on Amazon KDP?
- Yes. A standard activity book is a paperback and we set the files to KDP's template.
- Can colouring pages be mixed in?
- Yes. Colouring pages are line art in the same style as the other pages, and they count toward the package as confirmed in the quote.
- Do you write the instructions on each page?
- Writing is not included. You supply the instruction lines and we set them as editable text.
- Can pages be made to cut out?
- Yes. Tell us before we plan the book, because a cut-out page needs a blank back. Whether pages can be perforated is decided by your printer.
