A studio service
A nursery rhyme book, illustrated your way.
A collection of rhymes needs one picture that a toddler can point at for each verse. We illustrate nursery rhyme collections as board books or picture books, in a style that stays consistent from the first rhyme to the last.

N° 01One scene per rhyme
One scene per rhyme
Each rhyme gets a single clear scene with the main action in the middle of the page, where small children look first.
N° 02Board book or picture book
Board book or picture book
Board books suit 8 to 12 rhymes with bold, simple art. Picture books can hold a longer collection with more detail.
N° 03Your own rhymes too
Your own rhymes too
Traditional rhymes, rhymes you have written, or a mix. We illustrate whatever text you supply.
N° 04How it is made
How a book like this comes together.
01
The order is planned
Lively rhymes go early and quiet ones go last, with busy and calm pictures alternating in between. The collection then reads well from front to back.
02
Verse set line by line
Line breaks follow the rhythm of the rhyme. A line is never split in the middle of a phrase to fit the picture.
03
A small recurring cast
The same one or two characters can appear in several rhymes. This ties separate verses into one book and fits the character limit of the package.
04
The moment with the most movement
Each rhyme has one moment where something happens. That is the moment the picture shows.
05
A contents page
A longer collection gets a contents page listing the rhymes, so a grown-up can find the one that is asked for.
N° 05What goes wrong
Common mistakes, and how to avoid them.
01
Verse printed over busy art
Text placed on a detailed background is hard to read aloud. A calm area for the verse is planned in the sketch.
02
The look drifts through the book
A collection painted rhyme by rhyme can end up looking like several books. The palette and the character sheet are fixed first and used for every scene.
03
Faces and words at the edge
Board books are trimmed with rounded corners, and anything near the edge can be cut. Faces and text stay inside the safe area on your printer's template.
04
More rhymes than the package holds
The rhymes are counted against the illustration limit before work starts. Short rhymes can share a picture, or the book moves to a larger package.

N° 09Questions
The answers we give most often.
- Which rhymes can be used?
- Many traditional rhymes are in the public domain, but some modern versions are not. Check the text you use; we illustrate what you supply.
- What size is a board book?
- Common sizes are around 15 to 20 cm square; we set the files to your printer's template.
- Can two rhymes share one picture?
- Yes. Two short rhymes can sit on one scene, which helps a longer list fit the illustration count of a package.
- How many rhymes fit the Picture Book package?
- The Picture Book package has 15 illustrations plus the cover. That is 15 rhymes with a picture each, or more where short rhymes share a scene.
- Can I use my own wording of a traditional rhyme?
- Yes. We set the text exactly as you supply it. We do not write or edit the rhymes.
